I've been interested and involved in art since childhood. I loved draw as a kid and took art lessons from a well-known local artist. I learned to sew in middle school, majored in art in HS, and shortly after got married and put art on the "back burner" for many years. I received a BA in English Lit. with a minor in Photography in my thirties, and concentrated on photography. My work was shown nationally, and published, but now I take photos just for pleasure. I've been employed as a free-lance theater wardrobe supervisor for 20 years.

Over 10 years ago, I became intrigued with the craft of knitting, and decided to learn. It's fascinating that so much beauty and variety can be created with two "sticks" and two simple stitches. The almost limitless variety of fiber types and colors is a universe of delicious sensory experiences. Whenever I get a chance, I love visiting the farms where the animals that produce the fibers I use are raised. I learn so much on these road trips.

Hand knit and felted accessories are a large part of my line. Lately, I've been experimenting with the craft of Nuno Felting, that combines fine fibers and silk fabric to produce beautiful Art To Wear pieces. I love to experiment with unusual materials, so in my Etsy shop, you might find items created from Kraft Paper fabric, designer wool felt, industrial Felt and up-cycled materials. For me, working with my hands, heart and head to create something beautiful and useful is a very satisfying experience. I participate in many juried shows throughout the year, and always enjoy meeting people and talking to them about my work. I find that people love hearing about the processes I use and are very keen on supporting local artisans and products.
